Course Description

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body. 

Participants will learn about the basic structure and functions of the body systems and associated components, the processes, conditions and resources required by the body to support healthy functioning, protection from infection and active and passive physical activity.

The skills in this course apply to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology and must be used in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered onsite at your workplace. Please provide enough chairs for each participant.

Entry Requirements

An individual undertaking this course will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

  • ability to work with basic information about the human body and use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology

Online study options:  The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and practical assessment.

 

The Online delivery with face to face Practical assessment delivery mode includes video assessment questions. Occasionally the student will be required to make a video of themselves, either verbally explaining or demonstrating the required assessment outcome. If you do not wish to complete video assessment questions, please consider an alternative mode of delivery (for e.g. a full face to face course).

Assessment Activities

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include: 

Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:

  • Name the body systems
  • Name the organs/components
  • Matching body system functions & common conditions/diseases
  • Interrelationships between body systems

Documentation – The student must complete all forms related to the performance tasks

Case study 1 and 2 – The student must use the information presented in the case study and complete all related assessment questions

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

Express – Online precourse work with 2 hour face to face session – $200 per person (GST inclusive)

Course Fees and Payments

Express Course – $200 per participant (GST inclusive)

  • Payment terms – Payment for individual participants in upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and Resus Ready First Aid Training
Assessment Requirements

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

What does my workplace need to provide for onsite Training?

During the face to face session participants are required to watch a video to refresh their knowledge on key body systems.  You will need to provide a smart tv or projector where I could connect my laptop to show the video as well as enough chairs for each of the participants. Tables/desks would be great but not essential. I will provide all other equipement for training and assessments.

Is there a minimum number of participants required for a group booking?

I require a minimum of 6 participant to run an onsite workplace group training session

Is there a maximum number of participants allowed in a group booking?

I can train a maximum of 20 participants at a time.

What is a USI and how do I find my USI ?

A USI is your Unique Student Identification number. This is issued by the Government and you keep it for life. If you have completed any VET training such at HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or other Nationally Recognised courses then you will likely already have a USI.

Your USI contains all your Nationally Recognised Training records from Janurary 1st 2015 onwards.

To create a USI you can simply go to www.usi.gov.au and click "create a USI" then follow the prompts
